Flu Shot Facts
I am continually asked about what I think about certain vaccines that are recommended/required. Most of all, I am asked about the flu shot and if I think people should get it. Though I can’t answer for anyone else, I can say, I won’t be getting the flu shot this year or any year. I recently came across an article that made a lot of sense that was written by an MD on the flu shot. I would encourage you all to read it. http://www.drjaygordon.com/development/news/h1n1update.asp It is a great discussion piece on building immunity naturally, strengthening your immune system and the likely risks of flu.
I also found an interesting article on the FDA website about the ingredients that go in to making the flu shot. If I wasn’t certain of my lack of desire to get a flu shot before, I certainly am after reading this. According to the FDA’s own website, http://www.fda.gov/biologicsbloodvaccines/vaccines/questionsaboutvaccines/ucm186102.htm the flu shot contains MSG, potassium chloride-a chemical used to euthanize animals as well as the active ingredient in fertilizer, egg protein to provide the biological matter in which to grow large batches of the vaccine, neomycin sulfate and polymyxin B which are antibiotics to kill all the excess virulent disease that may have accidentally grown in the toxic brew, hydrolyzed porcine gelatin—basically melted pig parts, formaldehyde, ether and thimerosal-a mercury derivative that are all used as preservatives.
I wouldn’t eat, drink or inhale these in to my body in any form, except maybe the MSG at a good Chinese restaurant. Certainly I wouldn’t inject any of them directly in to my body.
Is the flu dangerous, in most people it isn’t. Does it kill people on occasion? Certainly and sadly when six billion people are on this planet and there are tens of millions of cases of illness in the form of flu among them, there will be those who do not survive. Therefore it is up to you to do your research and then make your own intelligent decision. This should be the way people make any intelligent health care decision. I see too many people make decisions for their family, themselves and kids based on media hype versus their own critical research.
Do your RESEARCH, THEN make your decision for yourself.
